Release 1: At Home

At Home Show Notes

At Home is the result of years of hard work and passion around building out the perfect wardrobe for everyday wear. Through trial and error, we were able to pinpoint the Vision and Values of Namier Viazcán.

Namier Viazcán’s vision is to make timeless garments that people will enjoy year after year. We researched wardrobe staples that have been in wardrobes for decades, and will continue to be there for decades to come. We take these wardrobe staples and infuse our own ideal aesthetic onto them to give these pieces a new point of view.

The Values of the brand center around high quality and low environmental impact garments. By producing everything in house, we are able to take time to make sure every garment is as close to perfect as humanly possible. This heightened focus on quality control allows us to ensure the garments will last years, not one or two seasons. In a world where fast fashion continues to churn out low quality and uninspired clothing, we wanted to focus on something completely opposite to this. By using deadstock and non-reorderable fabrics, we are able to reduce our waste while also gaining access to incredible fabrics that would otherwise be left in a landfill. Having the production model set as made to order allows us to wait to see if a garment sells before producing it. If an item does not sell, we will roll the fabric into the next release or use for testing and development.

After deciding upon the values and vision of the brand, this first release took nearly eight months of meticulous planning, extensive testing, and careful sampling. Each garment was patterned, tested, sampled and will be produced at home in Brooklyn, NY.

At Home is made up of 24 made-to-order items that are all unique in their own right but can be easily styled together with other pieces in the release or with items you already have. We have focused on what we feel are the most essential garments in anyones wardrobes: Jackets, Trousers, Shirts, Skirts and Dresses.

Every release from Namier Viazcán will build upon and carefully iterate from this initial offering. The brand’s vision is to consistently expand upon the strong foundation we have established while simultaneously introducing fresh new elements that reflect our steadfast vision on wearable garments.

Each item will be produced only a single time for the initial release, no matter what size is purchased. This ensures a sense of uniqueness and exclusivity, while also allowing us to focus on the highest level of quality and hand-made detail possible.

We hope for this first release that you find something you love and wear time and time again and we can’t wait to expand on this in the new future.

Jackets are reduced to their most minimal form through removal of collars and style lines to provide a streamlined version of the classic tailored jacket. The Minimal Lapel Jacket is almost entirely seamless except for the body. It is cut from one large piece of fabric which gives a beautiful drape down the center back. The Round Neck Jacket is our take on the classic that has been a part of women’s wardrobes for years. The Sharp Jacket takes the most relaxed approach and is reduced down to its most simple form: no lapel, no collar and no welt pockets.

Trousers have either been reduced to its most simple form or expanded on to add to an already classic silhouette. The Vented Trouser features vented legs that provide a slim waistline but expand at the hem for an incredibly wide leg that flows as you walk. The Pleated Trouser is our take on the timeless pants that have been a staple in menswear for over a century. We have iterated upon the classic pleated trouser but reversed the pleat inwards, which gives a slimming effect. This allowed us to provide a wide leg for a more relaxed fit and ease of wear. Our most relaxed pant offering is our Easy Trouser which, as stated by its name, has been reduced to the bare minimum. The back pocket has been removed and side seams have been converted into a dart, a technique that is most often found in loungewear or sweatpants.

Shirts have been designed to fit a wide range of different dressing scenarios. The Open Collar shirt is our take on a camp collar shirt and allows for a relaxed and effortless fit. The collar pops open giving a nonchalant gesture that works great with jackets or on its own. The Wrap Collar shirt lends itself to a more restrictive gesture. With a collar that wraps around the wearers neck suggesting a monastic and much more conservative look. The Long Shirt is our take on the classic button up shirt. The Long Shirt is cut oversized on the body with an exaggerated drop shoulder and an exceptionally long sleeve.

Skirts are offered in two styles that are on almost complete opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of construction, but both equally wearable. Our more classic skirt is our Vented Skirt which features an inverted pleat up the front and a long hemline, resulting in a further tailored approach to skirts. Our second offering is our Wrap Skirt which is cut from a single, large piece of fabric. In cutting the skirt, we thoughtfully kept the selvedge of the fabric to add texture, as well as a reminder that every garment starts from yardage of fabric.

Dresses for At Home are stripped of frills and unnecessary detail. Being reduced to the bare minimum, which for us means an elegant silhouette and thoughtful fit. Similar to the Minimal Lapel Jacket, for the Minimal Seam Dress we eliminated as many style lines as possible, opting instead for an almost seamless approach.

We truly wouldn’t have been able to make this happen without the support of friends and family all around the world.
